Sewing & Alterations course
Learn how to use a sewing machine, read and use a pattern, cut fabric, insert zips, adjust and alter garments and all the other skills needed for basic sewing and dressmaking projects.
Sewing & Alterations (Beginners) Not running this term
Day/Time: Tuesday 7:30-9:30pm

Learn to create, alter and up-cycle your own garments with this Sewing and Alterations course. Students will be invited to work on their own project, as they create an article from pattern reading to the finishing touches and/or up-cycle an existing garment. Throughout the course students will learn all the basic sewing skills necessary from getting to know how to use their sewing machine, stitching different seams and hems, insterting a zip, and much more!
Items that participants should bring to the first class: 1/2 metre of cotton or similar for practice, thread, scissors, sewing needles, pins, 20cm zip, tape measure, notebook, pencil and pen. If you have a sewing machine, please bring it along too.
