DIY Course

This course will give adult learners the basic skills to complete a variety of DIY tasks around the home!

​Day/Time: Monday 6:30-8:30pm
Duration: 10 weeks

During this course learners will learn a range of DIY skills. It will provide a general insight into how to carry out a range of DIY projects in and around the home, and gain confidence in using hand and power tools. Classes will typically include some demonstration, and as much hands-on practice as possible. There will be some degree of flexibility, depending on experience and areas of interest of the class, but among the potential topics covered are:

Hanging pictures and curtain poles - Changing light bulbs and fuses - Tiling small areas of wall or floor - Constructing and installing shelving units - fixing dripping taps and clearing blocked drains - Basic carpentry - Wiring a plug - Cleaning gutters - Dealing with squeaky floorboards - Resealing a bath - Building flat-pack furniture - Using a spirit level - Turning off hot water supply.
