Creative Writing Courses

Our writing course is tutored by Creative Writing graduate and published writer Robert Hopkins. Beginners and improvers are welcome.

Creative Writing

Day/Time: Monday 7:30-8:30pm
Duration: 10 weeks
Tutor: Robert Hopkins
Fee: €100
Format: In person; will move online if restrictions imposed

This course focuses on the short story, the starting line for every writer of prose fiction. The course has been devised for a ten-week duration and each class has a specific area of interest that is exemplified in the reading material for that week. All participants are encouraged to complete a short story over the course of the ten weeks and any work submitted by students is returned with a copy edit and thorough feedback.

About the Tutor

These courses are tutored by Rober Hopkins who graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an undergraduate degree in English Literature and History and and MPhil in Creative Writing. He has had short fiction published in The Stinging Fly and The Irish Times, and has been short-listed and long-listed for various writing awards. He has previously worked as creative writing facilitator for someblindalleys.com. Robert is passionate about adult education, and after spending two decades in manual work he accessed college under the Back to Education scheme. He has a genuine interest in helping mature students reach their creative potential.
