Violet Dempsey

St. Tiernan’s Community School Adult Art Class welcomes everybody from complete beginners who've never held a paintbrush, to more intermediate painters who want to hone their skills. Over a course of eight weeks of classes, we aim to explore and gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental elements of art.   We will explore colour theory to tone, composition, line, shape, and form. Using acrylic paint students will also learn different painting techniques, from applying washes, building up tone, using texture and dry brushing, we will develop a solid foundation while gaining a deeper mastery of the process and art-making. In a warm and nurturing environment, students will get plenty of individual tuition and support to help develop their own personal style, with lots of scope for individual projects and subject matter including still life, landscapes, and portraits.
