Tai chi (taiji) and qigong (chi kung) are life-enhancing arts which have been practised for centuries for health, self-defence and personal development.
Course outline
Tai chi and qigong exercises are low-impact, slow-motion mind-body exercises that can improve a person’s general functioning and quality of life. The health benefits include enhancement in muscle strength, more vigour and flexibility, better balance and mobility, and a sense of well-being and confidence.
This program is designed to enable the student to gain an appreciation of the practices required within a traditional taiji (tai chi) and qigong (chi kung) training program. The training program is based on the Chen style tai chi system that originated in the Chen Family Village, Henan province, China. Elements from other tai chi systems are also incorporated based on the instructor’s personal experience.
Who is the class for?
The Tai chi & Qigong exercises are suitable for everyone, the young and the not so young. They are safe and no fancy equipment or clothing are needed, so it's easy to get started.

- Standing Meditation for conditioning the mind and body
- Introduction on taiji philosophy
- Perform a set of taiji & qigong routine to consolidate the above and to produce health benefits mentioned above.

About the tutor
Mr Ming Ng received his training in Chen style tai chi with various teachers and he is currently studying with Master Chen YingJun and Grandmaster Chang Hai Zhu. He received qigong training from the Chinese Health Qigong Association. Ming has also studied other styles of tai chi and qigong including Yang style, Wudang, Prana Dynamics and Yiquan. Ming also travels to China and other regions for continual professional development in tai chi & qigong on a regular basis.
